03/20/2016 Dropped by Roberto's this evening, I know it was a Monday and Mondays are always slow in the restaurant industry even here in Seattle, but truly no one was in the place. Never a good sign, so we headed up to Place Pigalle just up the stairs and to the south. Now that Roberto no longer works in the place that bears his name we thought this would be a great opportunity to finally see if all the five stars were well deserved or just the product of friends and family. Our first time at Roberto's was at best a disappointment but though even Roberto was worth a second chance. After a magnificent meal at Place Pigalle and a great few glasses of vino, and as the night was still young we ventured back down to Roberto's for a night cap. The doors were locked, the lights were out, but than who would expect a restaurant to remain open after eight on a Monday? One more Chance? Perhaps for the early bird special next time 03/21/2016 We returned to Roberto's or as we would now like to refer to it as not Roberto's for the early bird special. What a pleasant surprise. New staff, working on a new menu, the loud obnoxious guy with the clown suit is gone Perhaps there is a salvation after all. On Saturday March 26th the new NOT Roberto's will be opening for Brunch. There will be waffles, omelets, an assortment of egg dishes, biscuits -gravy, and did I mention WAFFLES and a make your own bloody Mary bar complete with house made accouterments, looking forward to a return visit and a new beginning to what will soon prove to be a Northwest favorite My wife and a few friends will be there at 10 AM to celebrate the grand opening on Saturday March 26th. We wish Not Roberto's well and welcome them to our neighbor hood FYI, it will no longer attempt to be an Italian Restaurant, if you want real Italian check out Carmines in Pioneer Square.
